a postcard from Houston...

So, one week today I fly out to Houston for quilt market. I'm thinking it might be nice to hand the reins over to you guys and be an intrepid reporter for you. What would you like to find out about? What do you want to see? Any new lines you're crazy about finding info on? Any designers you want me to ask a specific question to?

Comment away and I'll make a list.

Oh, and before Lynne tells me to do something really stupid like streak through the convention centre. No. I shan't. I draw the line at that. Well...probably.

Hey Katy! So glad that you will be at Market -- I hope to see you at the Houston MQG meet up at the Hilton on Saturday night.

Besides seeing you there, I would like to see what you get at sample spree!

Katy, have a great time on your trip! I'd love an update on Denyse Schmidt's Flea Market Fancy 2, and see what her booth looks like!

Hi, not sure if this is the kind of thing you want but I've been searching for modern fabric to make a quilt for a man. It's really difficult to find, whats out there tends to be for little boys not teens and men. Perhaps you could see if there are any new ranges out for men or perhaps ask the designers and manufacturers why the don't produce "male" fabrics. I'm sure there must be a market for them.
Have a wondeful time.

I would love a recap of everything you see of course but I was also how one goes about being able to attend quilt market? I would love to go to Kansas City in Spring but don't you have to be "in the business"? How do regular people go and how do you get your ducks in a row? Thanks and I can't wait to hear your report back, have a WONDERFUL trip!

I have the same questions as Ashley G. Have always been curious about that. Of course want to know what the latest fabric trends will be and see new quilt
patterns. Have fun!

I'd love to know more about FMF2 as well! And I want to hear all the gossip and every scandalous thing you all get up to. It would be lovely if you could streak past Mr. Aurifil I've been told he's lush?

One question? Did Leila ^ mean "streak" in the American meaning of the word? If so, then by all means YES please do!
I'd love to hear about the behind the scenes fun that you folks have. I feel like there are so many opportunities to see sneak peaks of all the designers up and coming fabrics. I'd love "the rest of the story!"

I'd really love to see what Jenean Morrison is up to next, if you see her please tell her I think she rocks :-)

Okay, I love that you're at market, but I just had to comment that I love your Uncle Traveling Matt! I remember the Fraggles well!

I'd like to see the parsons gray line by David Butler, mainly the heavier decorator weight was thinking of covering a chair with it

Stay post-market and have fun with us hoi polloi who aren't allowed at market! :)

Please stalk Tula Pink for me, ok?

You should take pictures of everyone's shoes. Then we can try to match the shoe to the designer/quilter.

And yes, Leila, Mr. Aurifil is all that. Hint: if Katy posts shoe pictures (see above), you will know who's wearing the Prada sneakers.

What a cool idea. My daughter (Tracey-Itching2BStiching) and me are going to the Festival. I am so excited. Can't wait to see your reports!

I am very interested to see how Amy and Mr. Amy will present their designs...side by side, equally fabulous booths? I love the suggestion above for more manly mod designs coming up. Booth photos are very interesting to me - I love seeing how designers perceive their own work and how they want to display it for the buying public (and rabid, stalker fans). Have the most wonderfullest time Katy - starting with the flight. Ooooh, you girls are gonna have fun.

Give Jennifer Paganelli a big hug from me! And report back about Jane Sassamans booth, and have yourself a very merry time!!

Have a great time and please tell Aneela I think she's great! (Not that she'll have a clue who I am...) Love the Fraggles - wonder if my niece (3 almost 4) is old enough to appreciate them yet?!

If you happen upon the lovely miss jennifer paganelli tell her I am truly, madly, deeply in love with her fabrics and that I think she is quite obviously a genius, I bet she farts rainbows, awesome.

I love your posts. I'll be in Houston... I'll have to come introduce myself. Sometimes I am very good at that, sometimes, not so much. How is the skateboard, by the way? That tweet made me laugh out loud. So did Megan's response...

I'm looking forward to our 'tea' with Sarah on the floor.

How about Kate Spain, Basic Grey, Whimsicals, American Jane, minick and Simpson, Michael Miller fabrics, Bunny Hill Designs, Cosmo Cricket, Tula Pink, Riley Blake fabrics, Carrie from Miss Rosie,s... Maybe I should just say anything quilty? I'll enjoy whatever you post.

Have a fab time Katie, but please look out for the new Zen Chic lines although I know Brigitte will not be there. Have fun, no streaking! (well, no photo's anyway!)

I want a picture of you at the airport ticket counter - getting your ticket changed with your flight home having a stop-over in Portland. Just let me know what time to pick you up, and I'll be there waiting for you.

I'd also love to see Mo's new Mechanical Genius "boothlette" at Timeless Treasures. Can you believe it… only one Yammie (Kristin) is going to market. Only ONE! It's going to be awfully quiet, so please pick up the slack for us, k! Have fun and I'm so bummin' I won't get to see you!!
